The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has approved the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) as a Standards Development Organization (SDO). The scope of CRSI’s standards activities includes the development and maintenance of consensus standards for design, detailing, fabrication, placement, and construction of assemblies consisting of steel reinforcement and associated products used in concrete and masonry construction. This standard specifies procedures for monitoring the application process and assessing quality during the application of epoxy coating to straight steel reinforcing bars, pre-fabricated steel reinforcing bars and products, and textured bars and products. It also includes minimum requirements for testing, inspection, acceptance criteria, documentation, and corrective actions as part of a quality control program. This new standard replaces the previous two documents CG1.1 CRSI Standard for Epoxy Coating Plant: Straight Bar Lines-2022 and CG1.2 CRSI Standard for Epoxy Coating Plant: Custom Lines-2022.
