Richard started his career in the structural steel industry working in design, manufacturing, erection, construction services and project engineering of bridges and buildings.
He has a broad business experience base in senior management roles within the manufacturing sector in design, operations, sales, business development and strategic planning with both small and large sized companies.
He joined Salit Steel in 2009 in Niagara Falls as the Director, Business Development with cross divisional business development responsibilities. He then joined Salit’s stainless steel rebar division Salit Specialty Rebar located in Buffalo.
His responsibilities included technical and marketing development across North America targeting public infrastructure specifiers / owners such as DOT’s and Port Authorities. He provided information sessions to major structural engineering firms and general contractors. He also had sales responsibilities within Canada.
Richard is Chair of ACI committee 439 Steel Reinforcement and a voting member of ACI committee 222 Corrosion of Metals in Concrete, ASTM committee A01 on Steel, Stainless Steel and Related Alloys, and of various CRSI committees.
