Design Guide for Pile Caps - Supplemental Spreadsheets
The Design Guide for Pile Caps references three supplemental spreadsheets that are available for downloading. Each are briefly described.
CRSI-PILECAP (Limited Version): This spreadsheet was used to generate the design tables in Chapter 9. It can also be used to design other pile caps with allowable pile loads that vary from the pile capacities presented in the design tables or when pile shapes or types vary. This spreadsheet can also be used to customize a specific design when a preferred reinforcement arrangement is desired.
CRSI-PILECAP (Full Version): This spreadsheet allows the designer significant freedom to vary from many of the requirements, recommendations, and assumptions presented in the Design Guide. For example, the designer may need to minimize pile cap edge distances when pile caps are adjacent to a property line or use less than the recommended pile spacing in some cases. As such, extra caution should be used by the designer to verify that all final designs meet the 2012 International Building Code and the ACI 318-14.
CRSI-PILEGRP: This spreadsheet was developed by Alex Tomanovich (www.steeltools.org). This spreadsheet will analyze the pile group assuming a rigid pile cap, using an elastic method of analysis. It is assumed that the piles are arranged as shown in the Design Guide, so only the pile spacing needs to be inputted.
