Position Title: Marketing and Business Associate
Reports To: Director of Communications
Overview:

A full-time staff position to provide support to the Director of Communications and other departments, as required, including the production of the association’s monthly and quarterly publications, administer webinars, and assist with new and ongoing projects/initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists in planning of national marketing program and various allied organizations coordinates with CRSI Regional Managers.
  • Maintain and update Editorial Calendar for member newsletters.
  • Manages in-house production/layout/distribution of Rebar in Brief (monthly) and CRSInsider (quarterly).
  • Update content on CRSI website.
  • Administers CE/PDH webinars, certificates, surveys and broadcasting.
  • AIA course management, credit administration, and support.
  • Assists in CRSI HONORS program as required.
  • Source photos, obtain permissions, proofread content, and other related tasks as pertains to Institute communications
  • Posts as appropriate to social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to provide CRSI exposure.
  • Manage/moderate CRSI LinkedIn Group.
  • Liaison for IT support with vendor.

General Office Tasks:

  • Phone/website support including Rebar U registration and webstore purchases.
  • Product fulfillment/inventory audit.
  • Administers in-house webinars, support and production.
  • Backup support for office staff and Member Services.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree; Communications or English major preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years related experience; experience in association/membership organization desirable.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Competency in Microsoft Office.
  • Desktop and digital publishing experience essential.
  • Working knowledge of website CMS and HTML 5 desired; Dreamweaver a plus.
  • Planning, organization and prioritization capabilities required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and customer-service orientation.
Location:

Schaumburg, Illinois.

Position Title: Midwest Region Manager (Remote)
Reports To: President and CEO
Overview:

A full-time “home-based” staff position to positively impact the use of steel reinforced concrete construction in buildings and other target markets. Responsibilities include implementation of national market development plans as well as developing, implementing and maintaining appropriate regional strategic plans for market development and member services. This position reports to the President and CEO and serves as the primary CRSI staff contact responsible for all market development and region business.

Position Responsibilities:

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists in planning of national marketing program and various allied organizations coordinates with CRSI Regional Managers.
  • Maximize the market share of reinforcing steel usage within the region, reporting activity and success measures as appropriate.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain regional strategic plans for market development and member services with measurable objectives.
  • Serve as the primary CRSI staff contact responsible for all market development and region and chapter business.
  • Develop and maintain accurate databases of contact information on Architect, Engineers, Contractors, Owners and Developers, and prospective members within the region. Maintain this information in the CRSI Customer Relationship Management database.
  • Participate in CRSI national activities through committee membership, document review, and national plan development.

Regional Program Tasks:

  • Conduct presentations and workshops aimed at Architect/Engineering/Construction firms, and other specifiers to promote in target markets of buildings, or other markets as identified in the national and region strategic plans.
  • Produce regional information for use in internal CRSI newsletters and external outreach newsletters aimed at specifiers within the region.
  • Provide assistance to designers and contractors. Be a resource for concrete design information. Promote industry design tools and services as appropriate.
  • Conduct ongoing market research within the region to monitor perceptions and to set up programs that are meaningful and educational.
  • Presentations to professional groups such as: ACI Chapters, state structural engineers associations, and local AIA Chapters, etc.
  • Utilize CRSI chapter seminars to reach local designers, and develop a speaker’s bureau for regional use.
  • Present information and be a resource for key Engineering and Architectural Schools in the Region, and be in contact with key University Professors.
  • Foster partnering with allied groups—concrete contractors, cement shippers, local concrete promotion councils, structural engineering associations, state ready-mixed concrete associations, concrete pavers (ACPA chapters), and others. Set up and conduct joint programs and get commitments for joint funding where appropriate.
  • Conduct specific project promotion where appropriate. Track and follow major projects in the conceptual or design phase. Provide additional resources or feasibility studies from allied organizations, as necessary.
  • Membership and member services duties to include: regional newsletter for members, recruitment of non-members, coordinate chapter and regional meetings, coordinate various member services, manage regional and chapter funds, and such other duties as may be required from time to time.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in one of the following fields: Civil or Structural Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management. Professional registration, or the ability to obtain professional registration, is desirable.
  • Minimum of five to ten years experience in structural design or construction management is highly recommended.
  • Market development experience and/or familiarity with trade association promotion programs.
  • Experience in public speaking, sales presentations, or project promotion strongly desired.
  • Job responsibilities require skills in providing promotion, education, technical assistance, communication, member services and coordination of region activities.
Location:

This is a home-based position with strong preference to be located in Chicago, with Detroit or Minneapolis as secondary preference. Position will require a minimum of 50% travel within the Region as well as select National travel.

Set up and conduct joint programs and get commitments for joint funding where appropriate.

  • A background in bridge and/or highway design or construction is desirable but not required.
  • Market development experience and/or familiarity with trade association promotion programs.
  • Experience in public speaking, sales presentations, or project promotion strongly desired.
  • Job responsibilities require skills in providing promotion, education, technical assistance, communication, member services and coordination of region activities.
Location:

This is a home-based position located in the Western Region of the U.S. (as defined here) with a strong preference to a location near a major metropolitan market; Position will require a minimum of 50% travel within the Region as well as select National travel.
