Membership Definitions
Industry Member – Includes fabricators of steel reinforcing bars; producers of steel reinforcing bars; manufacturers of bar supports; and manufacturers of splicing materials whose home offices are located within the United States, Canada, or Mexico, their respective territories and possessions including commonwealths.
The term “Industry” means the business of producing and/or selling steel reinforcing material for use in concrete construction and employing a sales staff for such purposes; providing services for the preparation of placing plans and materials lists; together with both the maintenance of a warehouse stock of such materials and the operation of a plant or plants equipped with adequate machinery and equipment for the production of reinforcing bars, bar supports, splice devices, and epoxy powders, and/or the fabrication and/or epoxy coating of reinforcing bars, dowel bars or spirals, or accessories for same.
Associate Member – Includes manufacturers of tie wire; reinforcing bar placers; manufacturers of shop fabricating or coating equipment; furnishers or conditioners of reusable forms; wire fabric manufacturers; suppliers of computer equipment and/or services; resin manufacturers; management consultants; suppliers of estimating or detailing services; warehousers, galvanizers, and contractors.
Foreign Member – Includes any person, firm or corporation whose home office is located outside the United States, Canada or Mexico, their respective territories, and possessions, including commonwealths and which otherwise qualifies for CRSI membership as an Industry, Associate, Institutional, or Regional Institutional Member.
Affiliate Member – Includes regional associations representing the
domestic reinforcing steel industry.
Institutional Member – Includes any association representing domestic
industries, businesses or individuals on a national level whose purposes
and goals are closely allied to or affiliated with the reinforced concrete
construction industry.
Regional Institutional Member – Includes any association representing domestic industries, businesses, or individuals on a regional level whose purposes and goals are closely allied to or affiliated with the reinforced concrete construction industry.
Professional Member – Includes persons actively engaged in the reinforced concrete construction industry as designers, code writers, specification writers, engineering professors, researchers or testing technicians.
Honorary Member – Includes any person who has rendered outstanding service to CRSI as determined by the Board of Directors.
