The CRSI Design Awards Program
is now "CRSI Honors"!

 

The Design Awards program is currently undergoing a restructuring and brand makeover. The Call for Entries for the 2014 CRSI Honors program is scheduled for mid-2013. The bridge portion of CRSI Honors program has been moved to 2015.

For nearly 40 years, the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute has used the CRSI Design Awards program to proudly recognize innovative reinforced concrete structures throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. The purpose of the program is to award design and construction teams for building unique, progressive projects that utilize reinforced concrete construction.

Entries are judged on:

 
  • Aesthetic Expression
  • Functional Excellence
  • Design Innovation
  • Economy of Construction
  • Engineering Achievement

 


2012 DESIGN AWARDS PROGRAM WINNERS HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED!

Entries were evaluated on aesthetics, innovation, engineering achievement, functional excellence and economy of construction. According to Robert Risser, CEO and President of the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute, “The winning projects showcase the innovative design possibilities and qualities of using reinforced concrete and the exceptional collaborative management required during the construction of these outstanding structures.”

Six structures from three different categories were selected by the Design Awards jury during the 2012 World of Concrete. Entries for 2012 were judged by a prestigious panel that included John Boekelman, P.E., A.I.A., L.E.E.D., A.P., Cannon Design; James Dallman, A.I.A., La Dallman; and Ron Klemencic, P.E, S.E., Magnusson Klemencic Associates.
