Students & Educators
Looking for Ways to Reinforce Your Concrete Curriculum?
Tell Us What You Need!
CRSI staff and members are eager to support the needs of professors, instructors
and university students in their quest for a greater understanding of reinforced
concrete design and construction methods.
If you have questions or would like to arrange for a presentation at your university
or college, please contact the Regional Manager in
the CRSI Regional Chapter near you.
CRSI proudly supports the efforts of professors teaching the fundamentals
of reinforced concrete
design and construction.
CRSI offers valuable education support:
- Dozens of specialized educational resources for universities,
and in many cases, the funding sources to help acquire
them.
- Partnerships between CRSI's Regional Chapters and universities/technical
colleges to provide students with valued support and access to production
facilities and in-process projects relevant to course work.
- An extensive library of technical
guides, guest presentations, analytical software and materials to supplement
architecture/civil/structural engineering, and construction management
courses, research projects, and capstone programs.
- Scholarships for
students interested in reinforced concrete design and construction available
annually through the CRSI Foundation.
- Field trips to rebar production, fabrication, and
placement sites so students can see first-hand the practical application
of design principles.
- Special presentations and tours can be tailored to
directly support course objectives, including:
- Introduction to the Industry
- Selecting the Optimum Structural Framing System
- Building Inherently Fire Resistant Structures
- Designing for Blast Resistance
- The Designer's Responsibility for Rebar Design.
- Opportunities exist for specially crafted model projects to
challenge students and visually demonstrate the impact of concerns such
as constructibility, tolerances, formwork efficiencies and future expansion.

CRSI
Manual of Standard Practice
The Manual of Standard Practice has been presenting the
standards of the reinforcing steel industry since 1927. Every architect,
engineering firm, construction company and inspection office that
is involved with reinforced concrete should own a copy.
